Every year new interior trends emerge with colours coming in and out of fashion. Whether trendy colours preoccupy you or not, it is always good to keep an eye on trends as homeowners, since buyers will be swayed by something as inconsequential as bathroom colour (we all cringe now at the dreaded avocado bathroom).
A fresh colour palette gives the sign that your home is lovingly cared for and gives potential buyers the peace of mind that they are buying a well-maintained home.
So here are the colours to watch for in 2018:
Every year, Pantone, the organization who categorises and manages all things colour picks a colour of the year, which many interior designers then incorporate in their work. If you would like to be one step ahead of mainstream interior design trends, then you might want to add this colour to your palette. The colour is aptly named Ultra Violet, a bold and deep shade of purple.
While you might feel that is a bit too bold for a home interior, Dulux has also picked a colour of the year that is more sedate and might work better for a feature wall: the colour is called Heart Wood and is a warm, but rather faded tone of pink that we think works fantastically well for interior décor.
