Garelochhead is a village in Argyll and Bute, at the top of the Gareloch and 35.9 miles (57 km) from Glasgow. Loch Lomond is a few miles to the east and Loch Long lies to the west.

1,265 residents are served by Gareloch Railway station on the West Highland Line and there are good local village amenities including local shops, pubs, two village halls, a church and a bowling club. There is a local primary school, with secondary education available at the nearby Hermitage Academy in Helensburgh.

It is very close to the Faslane naval base, with many of the villagers employed at the base. It is surrounded by lovely mountainous scenery on the banks of the loch – great for water sport enthusiasts.
