Helensburgh is an affluent commuter town of Glasgow, part of Argyll and Bute council and lying on the north shore of the Firth of Clyde where it meets the shore entrance to Gareloch.

The town is 31.9 miles (51 km) by road and is served by three rail stations, with direct links to Glasgow, Edinburgh and London. Helensburgh is also the birthplace of John Logie Baird, the inventor of the television.
